Camp Schwab schedules annual summer festival for May 26-27

Camp Schwab is joining the list of summer festivals on Okinawa, holding a weekend bash May 26 and 27.

The 2007 Camp Schwab Festival will have game booths, rides, a kiddie land, cultural food and live music as well as arm wrestling and softball tournaments.

There will also be Hawaiian dancers and an appearance by the Maynard Triplets, who gained fame trying out for “American Idol.”

The festival starts at 3 p.m. May 26 and 1 p.m. May 27.

The arm-wrestling tournament will be held May 26 at the Camp Schwab Power Dome Gym and costs $10 for participants who register by May 18. Late registration will be accepted the day of the competition from noon to 1:30 p.m. for $15.

Registration for the softball tournament, which will be held both days, ends May 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Interested participants can register for either tournament at any MCCS athletic facility.
