Melodic trio to tour Pacific with Armed Forces Entertainment

The Maynard Triplets will tour with Armed Forces Entertainment through the Pacific region entertaining the troops May 23-June 18. The identical triplets, Mandy, Missy and Erin Maynard, have been performing since they were three years old.

The oldest of six sisters, the triplets were born in Omaha, Nebraska, into a musical family. Devout Barry Manilow fans the triplets’ parents started his fan club and toured with him the year before the girls were born. As a result Mandy and Missy are both named after Manilow tunes.

"We are so excited and honored to have the opportunity to perform for our troops in the Pacific," said Mandy Maynard. "We want to be able to give back and show our support to those men and women stationed so far from home. Because of them, we live in the greatest country in the world—and we want to thank them for that."

The group's style is described as country and/or a cappella and reflects the influence of Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, the Dixie Chicks, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. The triplets auditioned for the popular television series American Idol in the fourth season, which prompted the musical trio to move to LA, following their dream of singing as a career.

After their debut on national television, they met their idol, Barry Manilow, who invited them to open for his show in Las Vegas. The triplets have also been featured in magazines and on several national television shows since American Idol. The girls now live in Nashville and are currently pursuing a record deal.

"The Maynard Triplets' engaging stage presence and beautiful harmonies provide an evening of musical entertainment that is not soon forgotten," said Air Force Capt. A. Semrau, Armed Forces Entertainment Pacific circuit manager. "Their show will give our troops a true taste of home."
